Anne is thrilled to announce that her daughter Lucy has at last given birth! After two weeks anguish as he was due at the end of July! Thankfully Lucy, Perry and as yet un named son are all fine!
Guinea fowl (gleanies) abound. My Christmas present pair have really been busy! We have guinea fowl of all ages. Sadly the fox is very much in evidence so the gleanies are restricted to their large indoor aviary. Not so our peacocks, who are now happily installed in their wonderful outdoor aviary, safe from the fox! Although this has rather upset the wild peacock who’s daily routine has been thrown. Thankfully all the ponies are sound though still not working.
Our latest guest, a university veterinary student on work placement at a local equine vet specialist, can’t be described as a holiday guest but we thoroughly enjoyed having her to stay.
At last we have rain! so everything is looking green. Thankfully the rain did not spoil the Three Counties Show Malvern, one of the best for years.
We have hatched our first peacock along with several gleanies which is very exciting.
The guinea fowl or gleanies are now well settled with the one female laying
daily. we have some eggs under a broody hen and some in the incubator. The
main question is are they fertile? We shall find out very soon!
Our guests at the Stable this week have hired a Morgan car for the day very
exciting!
